Tho topline trends held somewhat steady, plenty of pronounced shifts in latest Circana multi-outlet + convenience scans thru July 13. Total beer $$ down 3.5% with volume off 4.8% for latest 4 wks. Volume about even with previous 4 wks and YTD, each -4.7%. Yet $$ fell from -2.9% in 4-wk period thru Jun 15, another indicator that beer ain't getting as much pricing in key summer stretch. Supplier share shifts look starkly different than in recent years. AB gained by far the most volume share for latest 4 wks, +0.8 share to 36.6, even as AB volume fell 2.7%. No other brewer gained more than 0.1 share. Diageo (+0.08) and Constellation (+0.07) next closest with volume +1% and -4.4%, respectively.Trends and share swings closer by $$ sales, as AB dollars dropped 2.0% and STZ slipped 2.2% for the period. AB gained 0.5 share of total beer $$ to 30.1 compared to Constellation +0.3 to 20.6. But just 5 of the top 25 vendors in Circana MULC grew volume, with Diageo the only member of the top 13. Molson Coors' volume fell 7.4%, -0.6 share for 4 wks. Boston Beer and Heineken both down 10.5%. Mark Anthony held volume share with cases -5% (tho picked up 0.1 share of $$). Monster Brewing by far softest of top 25 suppliers in Circana MULC with dollars down a whopping 30.7% and volume off 29.5% for 4 wks.Mich Ultra Zero 2/3 of NA Beer Growth; Busch Light Lime Added More Vol Share Than Banquet AB's volume gains led by Mich Ultra (+0.75 share) and Busch Light (+0.5) share, by far the top 2 gainers in beer. Ultra volume up 4% for 4 wks as Busch Light improved to +6%. But co continues to get boosts from Mich Ultra Zero and Busch Light Apple, both up nearly 0.15 share for the period and the #5 and #6 volume share gainers in Circana's top 100. New Busch Light Lime extension doesn't yet make that list, tho it tacked on even bigger 0.36 share of volume, adding all incremental $10+ mil sales and ~457K cases in MULC. Meanwhile, Mich Ultra Zero up to nearly 13 share of NA beer volume for the period and accounted for over 2/3 of the segment's growth! That's as total NA beer volume still up 22.5%, +0.3 share to 1.1 of total beer in tracked scans.Modelo Especial Volume Down Nearly 7%, Corona Extra -9%, Offsetting STZ's Other Top Gainers Number 3 and 4 volume gainers among Circana's top 100 brands were Coors Banquet and Corona Sunbrew, each up 0.2 share for 4 wks. STZ also snagged # 7-9 largest volume share gainers on the list with Pacifico, Corona Familiar and Victoria all up double digits and adding 0.1 share. Yet Modelo Especial volume down 6.7% and Corona Extra slid 8.7% for the period, as total import segment shed 0.1 share of scan volume.Corona Sunbrew and Mich Ultra Zero Both Around Top 50 in Foodstores, Top 75 in MULC This year's top innovations continue to climb the summer standings. Corona Sunbrew sold ~$8 mil, 202K cases in Circana MULC scans for 4 wks compared to Mich Ultra Zero's $6 mil, 189K cases. Sunbrew up to the #63 brand by $$ in Circana MULC and #68 by volume for the period. Ultra Zero #76 by $$ but #71 by volume. In foodstore channel where both brands overindex, Sunbrew cracked the top 50 by $$ (#48) with Mich Ultra close behind (#52) for 4 wks. Those standings are exactly flipped by volume.Total Twisted Tea Volume Down 11% for 4 Wks; Original -19%, Party Pack -25% Twisted Tea sales slowed further in latest period. Twisted Original volume slipped 19% with Party Pack down 25% for 4 wks thru July 13 in Circana MULC. Half & Half (-7%),Peach (-8%) and Raspberry (-11%) down less among Twisted's 5 top 100 brands. But total Twisted brand family volume dropped 11% for the period, now down 6% YTD in Circana MULC scans.
