Promo pricing for Labor Day is here, and many of the usual suspects are running back their July 4th deals, often with a dollar or two added. In Chicago, key retailer Binny's has Bud/Miller/Coors Light 24pks for $13.99 ea when you buy 2 (limited to 2 ea), up $1 from Jul but otherwise the same deal. Jewel Osco is selling Bud/Miller/Coors Light 24pks and Busch Light/Miller High Life/Pabst 30pks for $14.99; again, identical to Independence Day except $1 pricier. Hot July 4 prices didn't provide much of a boost, recall, as sales during key holiday period remained soft. Kroger discounts weren't quite as steep for the large light lagers. In Indy, IN, Bud/Miller 24pks were $16.97 (unchanged from Jul), $18.99 in Houston (up $1), TX and Cincy, OH, the latter after a $5 rebate. At Von's stores in SoCal, Bud/Miller/Coors Light 30pks for $18.99 with digital coupon (limit 3 ea). In Oakland, CA, Safeway stores are offering Bud/Miller/Coors Light and Pabst 30pks for $19.99. And in Portland, Safeway selling Bud Light 30pks, Mich Ultra 24pks and Kona Big Wave 18 pks for $18.99, with Miller/Coors Light at $19.99 per 24pk, both after $6 rebates.Walmart's Reduced AB Pricing Ends Monday, Not A Lotta "Rollbacks" Walmart's summer-long discount of Mich Ultra and Busch Light pricing ends Monday, but the below-cost initiative rippled across the retail landscape. At Meijer stores in Detroit, Mich Ultra 24pks are $13.99 after a $6 rebate, lowest price we could find, while Jewel Osco lists them at $18.99 if you buy 2 ($21.99 for a single). Meanwhile, we couldn't find an Ultra 24pk for below $20 (the retailer's target price point) at any Walmart, tho Chicago and Phoenix were closest, at $20 and change. Meanwhile, Kroger in Cincy was selling them for $19.99 after $6 rebate and $20.99 straight up in Indy. At Von's in SoCal, Ultra was $18.99 per 24pk with digital coupon (limit 3); same price at Safeway in Portland, OR, no coupon required. In Cincy, Mich Ultra 24pks were $19.99 after $6 rebate at Kroger; in Indy, they're $20.99 and in Houston, Ultra 30pks are $25.99.On other hand, Busch Light was consistently below $20 for 30pk at Walmart, as promised, but Meijer was again lowest, at $15.99 for 30pk, same for Miller High Life. Perhaps because of the AB discounts, there weren't a lotta other Labor Day rollbacks for Walmart. Notable ones we found: Miller High Life 30pk cans selling for $19.16 in Dallas, Keystone Light 30pk is going for $18.77 in Houston, and in Huntsville, AL, store has marked down Coors Banquet 24pk cans to $20.44 and Happy Dad 12pk to $15.87. Biggest list of beer rollbacks we saw was in Florida, with Athletic 6pks going for $9.87, Dos Equis 12pk cans avail for $11.87 and Garage Classic and Lime 12pk cans selling for $14.36. In Los Angeles, only beer discounts were on Modelo Oro 12pks of cans or bottles priced at $13.35. And at location closest to INSIGHTS global HQ in Suffern, NY, there were no Labor Day rollbacks on beer/alc at all.Lowest Prices: RTDs, FMBs Lead the Way While Surfside is on sale for $18.89 per 8pk at Publix in FL, Binny's is selling both Surfside and Sun Cruiser for $15.99 per 12pk and Nutrl for $14.99 per 12pk. Sun Cruiser 8pks and 12pks selling for $17.99 at Jewel Osco, which is also running a promotion for $12.99 of any of two "like items" among Stella, Nutrl, Leinie's, Twisted Tea, Blue Moon, 196 and Long Drink (limit 2 of any brand, pk sizes vary). It's also selling 8pks of Long Drink at $12.66 each with coupon and max purchase of 3. The lowest prices we saw for 12pks of spiked seltzers of any kind were (yet again) at Meijer's in Detroit, which offered several brands for $10.99/12pk after $5 rebate: Truly, Clawtails, Mike's, Simply Spiked, Smirnoff Ice, Happy Thursday, Vizzy and Topo Chico. Ralph's in SoCal was similarly priced: $11.99 for 12pk of Truly w/card.On craft/flavor side, Jewel Osco has Sam Adams and Goose Island at $14.99 per 12pk cans or bottles (and 15pk for Goose), with Bell's Two Hearted at same price for 12pk cans. Founders 12 and 15pk cans $13.99 when you buy 2, $17.99 individually. Leinie's Summer Shandy bottles for $14.99; Kona Big Wave 12pk bottles, Revolution Fist City 12pk cans and Goose Island 312 15pk cans for $15.99. By comparison, Lagunitas IPA 12pks are $14.99 at Safeway in Oakland but $18.99 at Ralph's in SoCal. Safeway's offering the same deal for Twisted Tea, Hazy Little Thing and even Trumer Pils. Ralph's offering Modelo Especial 12pks for $11.99 w/card when you buy 2, continuing trend of keeping brand's price low in key SoCal mkt. That's $3 less expensive than Safeway in Oakland. Tho gotta note, Modelo at $26.27 for 24pk of cans at Walmart in LA, same as Walmart in NoCal. So it ain't always cheaper down south.
