Change in seasons didn't bring much change in share shifts, tho trends didn't bloom quite as folks may have hoped. Craft $$ and volume slipped a bit sequentially in latest 4 wks thru Apr 19 compared to previous 4 wk period, per latest batch of Circana multi-outlet + convenience scans. But so did total beer, leaving the segment's yr-to-date share loss exactly the same even as trends softened slightly. For latest 4 wks, craft $$ dipped 2.3% (-0.24 share) with volume down 3.8% (-0.17 share), recall. Craft at 10.1 share of $$ and 7.1 of volume not including NAs, which are tracked separately in Circana. NA $$ up 17%, 0.2 share to 1.6 of total beer thru 3.5 mos in 2026 scans. Craft Up 3% in C-Stores, Down 3% in Foodstores; IPA Over 70 Share of Segment C-Store $$ YTD Craft trends still on opposite ends in foodstores and c-stores: grocery $$ fell 3% yr-to-date with c-stores +3.2%. Tho foodstore $$ slipped to -5.1% for 4 wks whereas c-store trends were steadier, up 2.7%. IPAs especially doing the heavy lifting in the latter, where they're now over 70 share YTD. Craft shed 0.6 share for 4 wks in foodstores vs +0.1 share in convenience. Still, segment has nearly 3x share in foodstores (18.2 for 4 wks) vs convenience (6.5).Just Over 1/3 of Top 30 Grew $$ for 4 Wks, But 4 of Top 5 Up Strong Just 11 of top 30 craft brands grew $$ for latest 4 wks as tracked by Circana (ex-NAs). But aside from top craft brand Blue Moon Belgian White ($$ -7%), the #2-5 brands were all up strong. Number 2 brand New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA dollars up 8%, #3 VR Juice Force up 13%, Sierra Nevada Hazy Little Thing up 10% and Elysian Space Dust up 11%. Each accelerated in latest period vs YTD. Number 6 brand Sierra Pale Ale also trending in the right direction with $$ just below flat (-0.1%) for 4 wks, up 4.4% in foodstores. But most other top craft brands slowed in latest period.Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Fastest-Growing Top 30 Craft Brand: +16% for 4 Wks, up 22% in C-Stores Fastest-growing among top 30 is now Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Sumpin', up 15.6% for 4 wks (+22% in c-stores). And Wicked Weed Pernicious IPA, +12%, is sandwiched between NBB's Juice Force and its AB portfolio-mate Elysian. Aside from Georgetown Bodhizafa IPA and Hazy Little Thing (each +10%), no other top 30 brand grew double digits for the period. Other brands in growth mode span Voodoo Ranger Imperial IPA (+8%), Cigar City Jai Alai (+4%), Lagunitas IPA (+2%), Goose Tropical Beer Hug (+2% but down from +8% YTD) and Sierra Big Little Thing (+0.3%). Along with Sierra Pale, Rhinegeist Truth (-0.3%), and Bells Two Hearted (-2.1%) fell slightly but gained share of craft.Athletic $$ Still Up Nearly 20%, Craft Notched 4 of 8 Best Growth Trends Among Top 25 Beer Vendors Separately tracked Athletic collectively still flyin', with total co $$ up 19.6% for 4 wks. It was 2d-fastest growing of any top 25 beer supplier behind only Happy Dad. And including Athletic, 4 of the 8 fastest-growing cos came from craft. The others: Kirin-Lion (+4.9%), CANarchy (+4.8%) and Sierra Nevada (+4.7%). Sierra trends accelerated 1.3 pts faster for 4 wks than YTD, also helped by Sierra Seasonal up 44% for 4 wks in foodstores.Firestone $$ Down 10% for 4 Wks; Tilray -13% Other craft suppliers among the top 25 total beer vendors didn't fare as hot, ranging from Artisanal Brewing Ventures ($$ -3.7%) to Mahou USA (-6.6%), Gambrinus (-9.1%), Firestone Walker (-9.8%) and Tilray (-13.4%). Firestone Walker trends nearly 4 pts softer for 4 wks vs YTD, as was Firestone 805 which fell 9% for latest period. Its separately-tracked Cali Squeeze brand fam is up solidly in scans, tho.New Belgium G Force Already #12 Craft Brand in C-Stores for 4 Wks; Brand Fam +10% Despite Laggards Top New Belgium brands keep climbing, pushing total brand fam $$ up 10.3% for 4 wks vs +8.6% YTD. New G Force Juicy IPA is already the 24th-biggest craft brand in c-store channel YTD with all-incremental $3 mil. Yet for latest 4 wks, it leapt all the way to #12, just ahead of Sierra Pale Ale and behind Cigar City Jai Alai.But NBB still had 5 brands in the top 30 that were down double digits for 4 wks, including Fruit Force (which swung back down to -19%), Fat Tire (-16%), Voodoo Ranger IPA (-15%), and VR Juicy Haze (-12%). VR Hoppy Variety Pk also down 8% with Tropic Force down 6%. Even so, NBB brand fam remains on an upward trajectory and by far the biggest in all of craft, $9 mil ahead of Pacifico YTD and 1 spot behind Heineken as #12 brand fam in all of beer.
