Business Content Writer

Do you follow and write about business? Are you interested in the beer and beverage space? Beer Marketer’s Insights seeks an experienced business content writer for its B2B newsletter publications. The ideal candidate is an intellectually curious journalist who’s interested in growth and development and capable with numbers. This position requires an understanding of the language and concepts used throughout the business and financial industries. We are located in Suffern, NY. This is envisioned as a hybrid on/off-site position.

Beer Marketer's INSIGHTS (BMI) is the leading source of information about the US beer industry, publishing for over 50 years. Our goal is to provide our readers with the most up-to-date, accurate information and news, as well as perspective, context, and insight. We offer a wide range of information services for beer and beverage business professionals. These include 5 subscription newsletters, our annual Beer Industry Update, 2 conferences per year, and several webinars. 

Because BMI is a small family business, our writers get involved in everything from:

  • Writing pithy articles about everything from sales trends, market share shifts and beer business dynamics, to M&A, legal and regulatory issues, company profiles, blurring lines between beverage categories (non-alc, spirits & beer-adjacent), etc.
  • Delivering presentations in webinars and live meetings to communicate beer and beverage business dynamics.
  • Copywriting, developing and executing marketing plans to promote our products via audience development & digital marketing.
  • And more!

We’re seeking a candidate with:

  • Journalism/writing experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong business acumen, with interest in the beer & beverage industries 
  • Proficiency understanding and analyzing data
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to meet deadlines and present complex thoughts in an easily digestible manner 
  • Experience cultivating industry contacts and reaching out to them for news and information
  • Preferred: BA/BS in English, Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration or related field

Bonus skills:

  • Experience with B2B content marketing and copywriting
  • Google Analytics & SEO metrics for media/news websites
  • Experience with content management & audience engagement

Compensation: $60,000 - $80,000 *Final offers for this job will be commensurate with experience. Total offer package will include benefits highlighted below.
Office Location: 49 E Maple Ave, Suffern, NY 10901

Schedule: Monday - Friday (with occasional travel outside of regular business hours)
